gcode files whereas the Method series uses. Meaning it’s now possible to use either Cura or the existing cloud-slicing software CloudPrint when printing with these printers or materials.Ĭura allows users to slice files for hundreds of 3rd party printers, so why did it take so long for Method series printers to be supported, which as of the merger, are made by UltiMaker? There are several reasons, but the most relevant is that Method series printers use a different file type than the majority of printers, including S series printers. As of this release, users can find profiles for our Method and Method XL printers, as well as material profiles for ABS-R, ABS-CF, and RapidRinse. Additionally, since the previous 5.5 release, the Cura team has leveraged the engine plugin capabilities introduced in that release to create a new plugin that gives you a bunch of new infill options! Cura now supports Method series printers!Ī year after the merger of Ultimaker and MakerBot, we have unlocked the ability for users of our Method series printers to slice files using UltiMaker Cura. Including, the long-awaited support for Method series printers, as well as additional settings that now let you control the base of your prime towers. You just don't get that with most consumer level security cams anymore. In this article, we will take a look at some of the new features of Cura that you can look forward to in this 5.6 stable release. That is, 100% NON-CLOUD, full internet access behind MY security system and the ability to record 24/7 to MY OWN SERVERS. Now, you might say, why not upgrade the security cameras or go with a stand-alone system.Īll these "new" cameras (well, most) are RIP OFFS! Now, these manufacturers have clicked into making money MONTHLY with their BS "cloud" services.Īlso, many cameras claim to be HD or 4K only to be FAKED OUT in their firmware.Īlso, none of them no longer have the ability for the end-user to configure their cameras like I have these configured here.
So sometimes, there's a logical reason why someone would stay on Win 7. So I wanted to install Cura 5.1.1 on this computer, but as seen, that's not happening unless I or someone can figure out a hack. If Win 10 didn't FORCE these danged updates, then I'd be happy to upgrade this computer to Win 10. I do have it well protected behind a very strong firewall, so there's no issue with hackers. It no longer gets updates except for anti virus. Sure, you can put them off for xx number of days or so, but at some point, YOU MUST LET THEM INSTALL and reboot.Īnd THAT is the problem to where THIS COMPUTER needs to stay on Windows 7. We have a bunch and several of them have to record 25/7 without interruption, especially if we're not home.Īs you know, with Windows 10, there are too many danged "updates" and interruptions. This ASUS 3D Laptop, i7, 25Gig RAM, nVidia 3 Gig dedicated, etc can handle Win 10 easily.īut MY personal reason here, is because THIS laptop runs all our security cameras. Sometimes, some may CHOOSE or NEED to stick to Win7 and for THIS machine, I NEED to. While I do have 3 Win10 machines, the one I'm posting on here is Windows 7.
